Women’s Golf Set to Tee Off at Pirate Collegiate Classic

Three-round, two-day event begins Monday

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The Marshall women's golf team is prepared to tee off in its second tournament of the 2021 fall season at the Pirate Collegiate Classic, hosted by East Carolina. The three-round, two-day event is set for Sept. 20-21, at the Greenville Country Club.
The course is a par 72 with total yardage of 6,061. Live scoring is provided by GolfStat.com. The event gets started with tee times beginning at 8:15 a.m. Marshall will get started at 9:05 a.m. The teams will play two rounds on Monday and then one more round on Tuesday.
Competing for the Thundering Herd are seniors Torren Kalaskey and Jackie Schmidt, junior Makena Rauch, sophomore Hanna Shrout and freshman Katie Potter will be making her collegiate debut.
There are 10 teams competing at the Greenville Country Club. Along with Marshall, the other teams are the host (No. 67) East Carolina, Cincinnati, Charleston Southern, High Point, Towson, The Citadel, Winthrop, UNC Asheville and Radford.
Marshall is coming off playing at the William & Mary Fall Invitational on Sept. 12-13. Kalaskey shot an even-par 72 in the second round and Schmidt scored a 1-over 73 in the third round. Schmidt led the Herd on the leaderboard finishing tied for 29th.
