JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Marshall women's golf team finished competition at the First Coast Classic on Tuesday, at the Deerwood Country Club.

The Thundering Herd ended the event in 11th place. Despite strong winds throughout the round, freshman Emily McLatchey had a good final 18 on Tuesday and moved up 10 places on the leaderboard to finish tied for 27th to lead the team.

"I was really impressed with Emily (McLatchey) today," Herd head coach Brooke Burkhammer said. "Wind was howling at times, and she wasn't phased by it. Saw a lot of good things from her this week."

McLatchey improved her score by five strokes in the final round. The Winter Park, Florida, native sank three birdies and scored par or better on 11 holes. McLatchey finished the event scoring par or better on 34 holes.

Graduate student Stormy Randazzo tallied two more birdies to bring her total to nine, tied for fourth-most in the tournament. Freshman Katie Potter scored two birdies on the back nine. Senior Jackie Schmidt and junior Makena Rauch had one birdie each.

Eastern Kentucky jumped ahead to claim the team award by 11 strokes over Arkansas State. WKU led after the first day and fell back to third. Olivia Schmidt of Arkansas State maintained her lead throughout the last round to win the individual award. Schmidt finished with a seven-stroke advantage over Ragga Kristinsdottir of Eastern Kentucky who came in second.
