Schmidt and Potter lead Herd after two rounds

WALLACE, N.C. – The Marshall women's golf team has completed the first two rounds of the River Landing Classic on Monday, hosted by UNC Wilmington at the River Landing Golf Course.
The teams tee off on Tuesday at 9 a.m. for the third round. The Herd will begin the day on holes 14-17. Live scoring is provided by GolfStat.com.
Marshall is in 14th place.
"I saw some good things today and was impressed with the fight Katie (Potter) gave all day for us," Herd head coach Brooke Burkhammer said. "Jackie (Schmidt) bounced back in the second round to post a low score for us. Tomorrow we will be better and prepared to play golf like we know how to."
Senior Jackie Schmidt birdied three-straight toward the end of the second round to finish with a 1-over 73, moving up 23 places on the leaderboard. Freshman Katie Potter recorded five total birdies on Monday. Fifth-year senior Stormy Randazzo tallied three birdies while senior Torren Kalaskey and Emily McLatchey had two each.
James Madison leads the team competition by four strokes over Boston. Amelia Williams of James Madison has a one-shot lead over Flair Kuan of Boston atop the leaderboard.
