ORLANDO, Fla. – Ashonti Warner bettered her 400-meter hurdle outdoor school record with a time of 58.87 seconds to lead Marshall Friday at the Black & Gold Invitational in Orlando.

The meet is being held at the UCF Track & Soccer Complex.
Â
That time gave her a second-place finish behind Kentucky's Masai Russell (56.52), who took second in the 60 meter hurdles at last week's NCAA Indoor Championships.
Â
Warner, a Hallandale, Florida native, set the old record of 58.91 seconds last season.
Â
On Friday, Dianna Goodman finished ninth in the pole vault with a mark of 3.70 meters.

Abby Herring recorded a 10th place finish in the 1500 meters in a time of 4:34.37.
Â
Maria Parra paced the team in the long jump (13th) with a 5.55-meter leap.
Â
Chloe Cahill threw the javelin 32.44 meters, good for 16th overall.
Â
Brooke Burns (42.60 meters) and Rebecca Merritt (42.40) went 17th and 18th, respectively, in the discus.
