RICHMOND, Ky. – The Marshall women's golf team turned in another excellent round on Tuesday for the final round of the Colonel Classic, hosted by Eastern Kentucky at The University Club at Arlington.

Despite dealing with some wind and intermittent rain, the Thundering Herd turned in the fifth-best team score of the round (300) and moved up two places into a tie for sixth.

"Proud of the ladies today for fighting and grinding over every shot," Herd head coach Brooke Burkhammer said. "We can take many things from this tournament to prepare for conference championship in 11 days. Overall today was a much better day for the Herd."

Fifth-year senior Stormy Randazzo led the way again for Marshall with a 2-over 74, and also moved up four places on the leaderboard to finish tied for 11th. The Rowlett, Texas, native rebounded after a bogey on her first hole to score a birdie on the next two. Randazzo tallied three birdies on Tuesday and finished the tournament with seven. She shot par or better on 13-of-18 holes in the third round and 39-of-54 for the event.

Senior Jackie Schmidt lowered her score by three strokes with a 1-over 73 on Tuesday and moved up 14 places tying for 25th. Schmidt bounced back from a plus-4 through her first nine holes to tally three birdies and did not bogey another in her final nine. She shot par or better on 16-of-18 holes and finished the tournament with six birdies.

Junior Makena Rauch also tied for 25th and finished the tournament with five total birdies. Freshman Emily McLatchey dropped her score by three strokes and moved up three places. Freshman Katie Potter improved by one stroke in the third round.

Eastern Kentucky won its home tournament by 22 shots over Georgia State. Ragga Kristinsdottir of EKU held on for the win by two strokes over Emma Berlin of Georgia State. The two entered the final round tied for the lead after the first two rounds.
