Herd Tennis Takes Pair of Home Duals on Friday

Marshall takes 17 of 18 matches
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University tennis team (3-0) swept the University of Charleston Golden Eagles 7-0 and defeated the Bellarmine Knights 6-1 in a pair of home duals on Friday.
"Next weekend will be big for us against two really good regional and national teams. We'll have our work cut out for us," Marshall tennis head coach John Mercer said. "Today was a good follow-up after last Wednesday (against Kentucky). I thought as the day went along we got better."
The Herd was dominant across both duals taking 17 of the 18 matches, including not dropping a doubles contest 10 of the 11 singles victories coming in straight sets. Both contests were sealed on court two with Emma Vanderheyden clinching the win over the Golden Eagles and Doroteja Joksovic sealing the contest against Knights.
