Final Results

WESTLAKE, Ohio – Marshall's Men's Golf team got a strong final-day effort, sparked by a pair of final round 67s from Andrew Wyss and Cameron Jarvis to finish in fourth place at the Tom Tontimonia Invitational at Lakewood Country Club on Tuesday.

All of Marshall's golfers competing in the team portion of the event shot Even-par or better on Tuesday, which enabled Marshall to move up four spots to its fourth-place finish – the best improvement of any team in the field on the final day.

"What a great day and a great tournament for us!" Marshall Men's Golf coach Matt Grobe said. "It was so much fun to watch these young men compete. They are a special group and so fun to coach!"

Joseph Kalaskey continued his steady play throughout the tournament and saved his best stretch for the final holes. Kalaskey shook off an early rough patch on Tuesday by birdieing four of his final six holes to move into a tie for 12th place after a final round 71.

"Joseph had a great week and battled today to finish in a tie for 12th place," Grobe said.

The top rounds of the day, however, belonged to Wyss and Jarvis who ended at the same result in different ways.

Wyss, who started on No. 9, enjoyed one of the most brilliant stretches of golf in his Marshall career as he shot a 5-under 30 on the back nine to set the tone for his 67.

Jarvis was back and forth early in his round, but found his rhythm later, birdieing five of his final 10 holes of action to also shoot a 4-under 67.

"Cameron and Andrew played incredible today and came in with matching 67s," Grobe said.

Clayton Thomas and Ryan Bilby each also enjoyed strong days with each finishing at 1-under 70 on the afternoon. For Thomas, it concluded a tournament in which he was at par or better in all three rounds to finish 2-under, which was good for 23rd place.

For Bilby, the highlight of his week came on No. 6 – a 566-yard, par-5. Bilby was able to secure the lone eagle that the hole surrendered to competition in all three rounds of action to put him in the red on his 1-under 70 to finish the week.

Ben Bridges also got in on the birdie fun on Tuesday, sinking three in his final round while competing as an individual in his first road tournament for the Herd.
