All five Marshall golfers in Top-20 heading to final day on Tuesday

ARDEN, N.C. – Marshall's Women's Golf team sits in third place after two rounds of the FBCI Invitational at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove.
All five members of Marshall's team are currently in the Top-20 as the team heads to its final day of the Fall 2023 season.
"We've put ourselves in a great position to make a run at it going into Tuesday's final round," Marshall Women's Golf coach Brooke Burkhammer said. "We played solid golf today in tough conditions in the second round. I'm proud of the fight everyone showed today."
The trio of Kasey McIlvaine, Olivia Kochan and Emily McClaskey all are tied for 12th at 9-over after two rounds of action while Abbey Bull and Hanna Shrout are each one stroke back and tied for 18th at 10-over following the first day of action.
Kochan, McLatchey and Bull all led Marshall in the first round, opening with matching 2-over 73s while Shrout and McIlvaine each had 5-over 76s.
Conditions for players got more difficult in the second round but McIlvaine shot a 75 to lead the Herd contingent. Shrout added another 76 while Kochan and McClaskey had matching 78s and Bull had a 79.
Marshall sits just six strokes off the lead heading into the final 18 holes, which will tee off on Tuesday morning.
