HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Volleyball team (12-18) begins the 2023 Sun Belt Conference Volleyball Tournament on Thursday against Southern Miss (12-15) in the second round. First serve is set for 8 p.m. EST/7 p.m. CST in Foley, Alabama.

PRE-MATCH NOTES
  • Essence Clerkley was named Second-Team All-Sun Belt Conference on Tuesday, her first postseason honor.
  • As a team, MU ranks 19th in the nation, second in the SBC, in team digs with 1,773. Peyton Neal leads the team with 346 digs this season.
  • After recording her fourth triple-double of the season on November 3 at James Madison, Brynn Brown ranks fourth nationally and second in the conference.
  • Lydia Montague's 109 blocks rank seventh in the conference, 84th in the country and sixth in the SBC.
 
SCOUTING SOUTHERN MISS
  • The Golden Eagles split their weekend of the regular season against Old Dominion, falling on Friday and winning Saturday.
  • Mia Wesley was named second-team all-conference on Tuesday. Wesley led Southern Miss 364 kills to go with a conference-best 55 service aces.
