HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Football brings its 2023 season to a close on Tuesday night when the Thundering Herd take on UTSA in the Scooter's Coffee Frisco Bowl, which starts at 9 p.m. and will be broadcast by ESPN.

PRE-GAME NOTES
Marshall Football is set to appear in a bowl for a record seventh straight season on Tuesday night when the Thundering Herd takes on UTSA at 9 p.m. on ESPN in the 2023 Scooter's Coffee Frisco Bowl.
The game brings an interesting difference in dynamics with Marshall quarterback Cole Pennington making his third career start against UTSA quarterback Frank Harris, who has been with the Roadrunners for seven years.
To put it in perspective, Pennington was in eighth grade in Harris' first year at UTSA.
Marshall comes into the game sporting FBS' best record in NCAA-sanctioned bowl games at 13-5 overall (.722) while UTSA is looking for its first-ever bowl win. The Roadrunners are 0-4 in bowl appearances.
ABOUT MARSHALL
Marshall comes into the bowl game at 6-6 overall after winning two of its final three games to become bowl eligible, including a 35-21 win over Arkansas State in the season finale.
Running back Rasheen Ali eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark on the season in that win, becoming just the fifth Marshall running back in program history to do so. Ali has rushed for 1,043 yards and 14 touchdowns on the year while coming into the game as the Herd's active leader in receiving with 28 receptions for 213 yards and a score.
Defensively, Marshall defensive lineman Owen Porter, linebacker Eli Neal and cornerback Micah Abraham are all cemented among the Herd's all-time greats as they enter their final games.
On special teams, kick returner Jayden Harrison has been named an All-American by several publications, including the FWAA All-America Team and the CBS Sports/247Sports All-America Team, after leading the nation in average yards per return (31.9) with two touchdowns.

ABOUT UTSA
UTSA comes into the game at 8-4 overall and finished 7-1 in the American Athletic Conference this season.
The Roadrunners feature quarterback Frank Harris, who has been in the program for seven years. Harris has thrown for 2,506 yards and 18 touchdowns with eight interceptions this season in leading the UTSA offense to success.
Harris' top target is Joshua Cephus, who has caught 82 passes for 1,049 yards and nine touchdowns.
Defensively, UTSA is led by a balanced attack that features Ken Robinson and Rashad Wisdom. Ken Robinson leads the team with 59 tackles on the season. Wisdom has 58 tackles on the year with five pass breakups and two sacks. The main havoc causer will be Jimmori Robinson, who has 10.5 tackles for loss and four sacks.

SERIES HISTORY
Marshall leads the overall series between the programs by a 2-1 margin. Marshall won both games in Huntington while UTSA won the lone game in San Antonio by a 9-7 margin on a last-second field goal. The last meeting resulted in Marshall's 23-0 win over the Roadrunners on Nov. 17, 2018.
