HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall softball team opens the 2023 season with a contest against the Portland State Vikings. First pitch is at 1:30 p.m. from Sleepy Hollow Sports Complex on Friday in Leesburg, Fla.

- Fifth-year senior Sydney Nester returns as the reigning C-USA Pitcher and Newcomer of the year. Nester won 26 games in 2022, with a 2.36 ERA

After Friday's game, Marshall will play two on Saturday against Butler and Colgate at 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. respectively. The Herd will then finish the weekend against the Bulldogs Sunday at 9:00 a.m.
