Herd Baseball Prepares for First SBC Road Series at ODU

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University baseball team (10-8, 1-2 Sun Belt) travels to Norfolk, Virginia, for a three-game series against Old Dominion Monarchs (18-3, 3-0 Sun Belt) beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday.

Scouting Old Dominion
The Monarchs 3-0 in conference play after sweeping the ULM Warhawks in Monroe, Louisiana, last weekend. ODU dropped a mid-week contest on Wednesday, 9-5, against Liberty.

Old Dominion leads Sun Belt with a .330 batting, ranking seventh in NCAA Division I baseball.

Hunter Fitz-Gerald ranks 11th in the nation with 37 hits, is fourth with 11 homers and sits in fifth with 36. His .381 batting sits eighth in the conference.

Saturday's projected starting pitcher Sam Armstrong has 33 strikeouts, four wins, a 1.61 ERA and a 1.04, all ranking in the top 10 in the SBC.
