Historic Herd Welcomes Bobcats in Midweek Clash

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The 16-3 Marshall softball team faces the Ohio Bobcats for the 61st time Wednesday, the most in the 30-year history of the program. The Herd is seeking to win its 17th game, which would also be an undisputed record through 20 games in program history.

PREGAME NOTES

Marshall currently leads the Sun Belt Conference in a number of statistical categories, including batting average, stolen bases, and team ERA.
Fifth-year senior Sydney Nester has the third most strikeouts of any pitcher in the country, with 103.
Junior Autumn Owen is third in the country with a 1.130 slugging percentage. Her 10 home runs are second in NCAA Division I.

After Wednesday's game, Marshall will host its second round robin tournament with Thundering Herd March Madness. Cleveland State, Rider, and Winthrop are the teams coming to Huntington over the weekend.
