Marshall women compete on Saturday in Tampa.
TAMPA, Fla. — The South Florida Invitational in Tampa has its daily schedule divided by gender. On Friday, with the exception of the women's 10K, only the men competed. Saturday will exclusively be women's competition from USF.
With the rebirth of the men's track and field program for the 2022-23 season, head coach Jeff Small's Thundering Herd were able to compete on both days against tough competition.
The men saw a pair of wins in the 800 and 1500 from Brett Armbruster and Evan White. Armbruster's 1:49.80 came within a second of taking down a school record set in 1999 (1:49.31).
Six other Herd men placed on Friday, as well as a near-personal record from Ethan Bowens in the 400.
