Herd Baseball Readies for Pair of Midweek Games Against Virginia Tech

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University baseball team (16-25) prepares for a home-and-home pair of midweek contests against the Virginia Tech Hokies (25-16). Tuesday's contest is scheduled to be played in Charleston, West Virginia, with Wednesday's matchup scheduled in Blacksburg, Virginia.

Daniel Carinci's .311 batting average leads the squad as the native of Ajax, Ontario, Canada, is on an eight-game hitting streak.

The Hokies are coming off a being swept in a doubleheader by the North Carolina Tar Heels on Saturday.

VT leads the country in fielding percentage at .984.

Jack Hurley has a team-best 49 hits, 15 homers and 14 doubles this season as Carson DeMartini leads Virginia Tech with 44 RBI.
