Herd Cross Country Teams Open Season at VT Invitational Friday

Women to race 4K; Men 6K
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall cross country teams open the 2023 season at the Virginia Tech Invitational Friday in Blacksburg, Virginia.
The meet takes place at the Buford Meredith Cross Country Course on Virginia Tech's campus and is set to begin at 6 p.m. for the Women's 4K and will continue at 6:30 p.m. for the Men's 6K.

"We've had a great preseason training camp," Head Coach Caleb Bowen said. "I'm excited to see the athletes in action. This meet is shorter than their normal race distance with the women racing a 4K and men a 6K. With that, it is a great bridge for the new athletes to enter from a high school distance to a college distance while also giving the upperclassmen an opportunity to run at a faster pace than their normal race pace which will help them throughout the season."
"This meet also has great competition with obviously Virginia Tech and a perennial DII power in UC and great athletes at Concord. Should be a really good competition to open the season."
