PRE-MATCH NOTES
- The Herd closed out non-conference play with a 1-0 win on Wednesday at VCU. Theo Godard tallied his first goal of the season as Gabriel Perrotta picked up his fifth individual shutout of the season.
- MU is the last team in the country with a perfect winning percentage having no ties or losses in its first eight matches of the season.
- In the Herd's last 15 contests, it has given up just six goals, going 12-2-1 during that stretch, including winning its last seven matches.
- Matthew Bell is having quite the sophomore campaign. The Kingston, Jamaica, is second in the country with 18 points on six goals, tied for third in the conference, and six assists, sitting atop the SBC.
- Marco Silva has put together quite the redshirt freshman campaign. He sits a point behind Bell at 16, ranking 10th in the nation, and is tied for eighth in Division I men's soccer with seven goals.
- Perrotta has recorded the victory in goal in all nine of MU's contests this season with 5.5 shutouts and the best save percentage (.885) and second-best goals against average in the conference (.336). Both numbers rank fourth in the nation.
- The Herd leads the country in goal differential (23), while ranking second in goals (27), points (82), scoring offense (3.00 goals per game), and assists (25).
ABOUT THE EAGLES
- Georgia Southern has drawn in its last four matches, including a 0-0 tie at then-ranked No. 2 West Virginia on September 22.
- The Eagles sit in third and 12th in the nation in goals against average at .667.
- Nate Martinez has played every minute in goal for GS this season, recording four shutouts.
