HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Football hosts its annual '75' game at 1 p.m. on Saturday when Coastal Carolina comes to Joan C. Edwards Stadium. The '75' game is played annual to honor the 75 persons lost in the crash of Southern Airways Flight 932 as the Thundering Herd traveled back from a 17-14 loss to East Carolina on Nov. 14, 1970.
To this day, the 1970 Marshall Plane Crash is considered the worst sports-related air tragedy in history.

PRE-GAME NOTES
Marshall is looking to go 6-0 at home with a victory on Saturday. Doing so would mark the first time since the 2015 season.
Marshall defensive end Mike Green was named as a Bednarik Award semifinalist this week. The Bednarik Award is given to the College Defensive Player of the Year. Green leads all FBS players in several statistical categories.
Marshall's Ethan Payne led the team with 104 rushing yards last week against Southern Miss. Payne became the fourth different rusher to lead the Herd in rushing yards in a game this season.
Coastal Carolina is the lone team that Marshall has not defeated in the Sun Belt East Division since joining the conference prior to the 2022 season. The Chanticleers have won both meetings between the programs.
ABOUT MARSHALL
Marshall comes into Saturday's contest at 6-3 overall and 4-1 on the season, which has the Herd in contention for the Sun Belt East Division title. Head coach Charles Huff is in his fourth season leading the Thundering Herd.
Offensively, the Thundering Herd is 12th in the nation in rushing yards per game, averaging 218.9 yards per game.
Marshall running back Ethan Payne led the team with 104 rushing yards, including a 36-yard touchdown run early on that got the offense moving.
On the defensive side, the Herd is led by defensive end Mike Green, one of the nation's premier defensive players and someone who was honored this week as a Bednarik Award semifinalist. Green ranks No. 1 in FBS in sacks (13.0), tackles for loss (17.5), sack yardage (107), TFL yardage (117) and is also No. 1 among all FBS defensive linemen in tackles (60).
Marshall linebacker Jaden Yates also leads all FBS players in total tackles with 81. Defensive backs J.J. Roberts and Jacobie Henderson are also in the top-5 in the SBC in passes defended with nine each.

ABOUT COASTAL CAROLINA
Coastal Carolina comes to Huntington with a record of 5-4 overall and 2-3 in the Sun Belt East Division.
The Chanticleers are coming off an impressive 38-24 home win over App State.
Running back Braydon Bennett finished with 88 yards and three touchdowns on just nine carries while adding another 33 yards receiving in the win for the Chanticleers.
Defensively, Clev Lubin earned the SBC Defensive Player of the Week honors after finishing with nine tackles, including 3.5 tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks.
