Program celebrates 13 graduates in season’s final home meet
HUNTINGTON, W.Va.- The Marshall Track and Field program is peaking at the right time before the indoor championships.
The Herd set another school record, while snatching 10 individual victories at the Marshall Invitational Saturday.
"I'm excited with our team's progress this season," Director of Track and Field Keith Roberts said. "We had another record-breaking weekend and the majority of our team had personal bests or season bests. Our student-athletes are peaking at the right time in preparation for the conference championship and we made numerous improvements in the Sun Belt rankings. It's time to lock in this week and lay it on the line in Birmingham."
"I am very proud of how our team supports and cheers for each other across all event groups. It was also great to see all of our Marshall fans and families out supporting the team, our administration and support staff at the meet, as well as Herd student-athletes from other teams."
Kylee Mastin set a new school record in the 800 with a 2:10.61, breaking her own record from this season. Ronnie Saunders broke a meet record with a 4:07.3 mile to win that event.
Elsewhere, a meet-high eight Herd track and field individuals won an event Saturday.
