Marshall Softball Visits Ohio in Midweek Clash

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - For its final game before opening Sun Belt Conference play, Marshall's softball team travels to Athens to face the Ohio Bobcats.

First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. as Coach Morgan Zerkle's Herd (13-11) faces OU (12-11).

PREGAME NOTES

Marshall is 13-11 this season, with three wins coming over Big Ten opponents.
The Herd's Bella Gerlach, a MAC transfer herself, hit two home runs Sunday including a walk-off two-run home run to beat Indiana State.
Junior Bub Feringa had a weekend to remember, hitting .600 while earning two wins in the circle. Feringa pitched five scoreless innings to close Sunday's contest.

Ohio is 12-11 this season, with Tuesday being the team's final game before starting conference play as well.
Senior infielder Tori O'Brien is hitting .373 to lead the Bobcats. The team's leading home run hitter and RBI leader is senior Yasmine Logan with four home runs and 15 RBI.
Marshall softball has met Ohio more than any other team in program history. MU is 39-22 all-time against OU.
