Herd returns home Thursday against ULM
HATTIESBURG, Miss. — The Herd dropped its game Sunday with an 8-5 loss at Southern Miss Sunday morning. MU remains at .500 in conference play following the first two weeks of league action.
Marshall (17-15, 3-3 SBC) led early after RBI hits from Bub Feringa in the 1st and Kasia Parks in the 2nd.
Big innings haunted Marshall, with USM scoring five in the bottom of the 2nd, capped with a two strike, two out grand slam. After MU pushed three across in the top of the 4th, the Golden Eagles scored three more on a second home run to retake the 8-5 advantage.
The Herd scored its 4th inning runs on the heels of a leadoff walk by Reagan Glanz and a single by Camryn Michallas. Both would score on a throwing error by the Southern Miss pitcher.
UP NEXT
Marshall returns home to face ULM starting on Thursday. The series shifts a day forward with next Sunday being an off day with the Easter holiday.
