Marshall Softball Welcomes ULM to Huntington

Three game series begins Thursday from Dot Hicks Field
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall University softball (17-15, 3-3 SBC) starts a three-game series with the ULM Warhawks (19-14, 2-4 SBC) who will be making its first appearance in Huntington in program history.
The series from Dot Hicks Field is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Thursday evening. Friday will be a 5 p.m. first pitch as well, with the finale on Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m.

PREGAME NOTES
- Marshall is 3-3 in conference play, having won its home series over Georgia Southern, before falling on the road at Southern Miss.
- Junior Bub Feringa is getting the job done at the plate and in the circle. Feringa led the team with a .333 average in Hattiesburg, while also pitching to a 2.10 ERA against the Golden Eagles.
- The Herd and Warhawks met for the first time in program history last season. Marshall took two of three in Monroe.
- ULM is 19-14 this season, with a 2-4 record in conference play. The Warhawks took two of three from USM in Hattiesburg, before being swept by South Alabama.
- The team's top hitter is junior transfer Carys Platt. Her, along with leadoff hitter Lourdes Bacon lead the team with .417 and .356 averages.
- Pitching is the team's strength, with three pitchers all with a sub-3.00 ERA. Kassidy Giddens leads with a 1.86 ERA, followed by Maddie Nochols (1.99), and Victoria Abrams (2.89).
