SBC Golfer of the Week Tyler Jones leads Marshall into final spring event

MADISON, Miss. – Marshall's Men's Golf team is in Mississippi to take on the league's best as the 2024 Sun Belt Men's Golf Championships get underway on Monday at Annandale Golf Club in Madison, Mississippi.
The tournament will feature 54 holes of stroke play with 18 holes each day Monday through Wednesday. The top four teams after 54 holes will advance to Match Play for Thursday's semifinals and championship.

"We are really excited to get the SBC Tournament started," Marshall Men's Golf coach Matt Grobe said. "The course has received a lot of rain over the last couple of weeks, but the greens have handled it well. I'm looking forward to seeing our guys compete this week as we finish out the spring."
Competitors for the Thundering Herd in the team event include Tyler Jones, Ryan Bilby, Joseph Kalaskey, Clayton Thomas and Cameron Jarvis. Andrew Wyss will also serve as the substitute.
Jones, the reigning Sun Belt Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, leads the SBC in stroke average per round coming in at 70.9. Bilby is third in the league in stroke average (71.4), meaning they will be two players to watch in the individual standings as well.
As action gets underway for Round 1 on Monday, Marshall will tee off from No. 10 at Annandale Golf Club, starting at 11 a.m. ET/10 a.m. CT.
