HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall women's soccer opens the 2024-25 athletics season when the Herd hosts Morehead State Thursday night at Hoops Family Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
Admission to the contest is FREE in celebration of Fans First night.

PRE-MATCH NOTES
- Thursday's match will be the head coaching debut of Rafa Simoes. The former assistant with the men's program was hired as the fifth head coach in program history last December.
- The Herd returns 10 veterans while adding 19 newcomers to this season's roster.
- Last season's starting goalkeeper Alexis Wolgemuth enters the season ranked 5th in program history with seven shutouts in goal.

ABOUT THE EAGLES
- Morehead State is the defending OVC Champions, qualifying for the 2023 NCAA Tournament. The Eagles were picked 3rd in this season's poll.
- MSU returns 12 players including graduate senior defender Anna Lohrer.
- Marshall and MSU opened last season as well, with the Herd winning 3-0 in Morehead to start the season. MU leads the all-time series, 7-1-2.
