Marshall Women's Golf Completes Day Two At Cardinal Cup

Borders, McLatchey lead Herd in Saturday’s round
SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. – Marshall senior Emily McLatchey and sophomore Madison Borders each led the Thundering Herd during Saturday's second round at the 2024 Cardinal Cup at University of Louisville Golf Club in Simpsonville, Kentucky.
McLatchey and Borders each shot 78 on Saturday for the Thundering Herd, who sits in 13th place after two days.
Borders joined Abbey Bull as Herd players finishing with three birdies on the day.
Borders, a Bardstown, Kentucky, native, birdied Nos. 8, 11 and the final at No. 18 en route to her 78 on Saturday. All of Bull's birdies came on the front at Nos. 1, 3 and 9.
McLatchey's two birdies came on par-5s – one on No. 9 and the other on No. 13. She and Olivia Kochan currently lead the Herd at 10-over for the tournament, which ties for 41st overall.
Marshall's final round comes on Sunday morning at 9 a.m. when the tournament flips to a shotgun start on the final day of competition.
