Women’s Soccer Opens Conference Play Sunday at Georgia State

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – With a two-week layoff to prepare, Marshall women's soccer (2-3-1) opens Sun Belt Conference play Sunday evening at 7 p.m. in Atlanta against Georgia State (1-5-2).

PRE-MATCH NOTES
- Marshall enters SBC play with a 2-3-1 record. The Herd won its final non-conference match with a late 85th minute goal from Ebony Leckey.
- Entering league play, junior goalkeeper Alexis Wolgemuth is second in the conference in saves per game (4.83) and third in overall save percentage (.853).
- A trend Marshall looks to change, the Herd is yet to tally a goal in three road matches this season.

ABOUT THE PANTHERS
- Georgia State is 1-5-2 entering SBC action under veteran skipper Ed Joyce, who is in his ninth season in Atlanta.
- Sophomore Aaliyah Faddoul leads the Panthers with three goals. She was the 2023 SBC Freshman of the Year. She had three assists when the teams met in Huntington last season.
- MU and GSU will be meeting for the third time Sunday all coming in the SBC era, with the Herd looking for their first win in the series.
