NEW ORLEANS – Marshall Track & Field earned all four of the Sun Belt Conference's weekly awards for Jan. 15, the league announced Wednesday.

Kylee Mastin and Peter Oliveira earned the distinction of Sun Belt Conference Women's and Men's Track Athlete of the Week honors following their victories at Marshall's Alumni Classic Saturday.

Rebecca Merritt and Addison Painter were named the SBC Women's and Men's Field Athletes of the Week with a pair a wins Saturday as well.

"We are excited and this shows we have some depth and we focus on being a balanced team and a balanced program," Director of Track and Field Keith Roberts said. "If you look at the areas that we are top in the conference in, it is over multiple disciplines. We are very excited to see it coming together and having people working together as a unit and trying to be the best."

Kylee Mastin swept the 1K and Mile at the Marshall Alumni Classic, setting a 1K school record of 2:51.30 in the process despite racing solo without competition. Mastin also won the Mile with a time of 4:50.13, a mark which currently leads the Sun Belt Conference.

Rebecca Merritt swept the Weight Throw and Shot Put Saturday. Merritt currently holds the second mark in the Weight Throw in the conference and third in Shot Put. The two-time NCAA East Region qualifier has won all four events she has competed in this season.

Peter Oliveira won the 60 Meter Hurdles Saturday at the Marshall Alumni Classic. Oliveira won his race with a time of 8.36. Oliveira previously set a school record in the event with a time of 8.17 last month to break a Marshall record which had stood since 1998.

Marshall senior transfer Addison Painter set a school Men's Long Jump record of 7.58 meters (24.9 feet), which broke his own mark set at the team's opener last month. When he initially broke the school's Long Jump record in December, it took down a mark set in 1996.  As of Wednesday, his 7.58 meter mark is 5th among all Division I athletes. Painter is a two-time DIII All-American.
