Herd Baseball Set to Open Home Series Friday Against JMU

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Baseball team (11-10, 1-2 SBC) returns to Jack Cook Field for a three-game series against the James Madison Dukes (7-14, 1-2 SBC) beginning Friday at 6 p.m.

PRE-GAME NOTES

The Herd dropped its midweek contest at EKU on Tuesday.
MU enters the week tied for 14th and the Sun Belt Conference lead in triples with Georgia State at nine. Maika Niu is tied for fifth nationally and the SBC lead at four this season.
Saturday's probable starter Griffin Miller enters the weekend with a 3-0 record and the ninth best ERA in the SBC at 2.67. The sophomore has 17 strikeouts in 27.0 innings on the bump in 2025.
Ethan Murdoch hit his team-leading sixth homer on Tuesday, tied for sixth most in the SBC.

ABOUT THE DUKES

JMU is coming off a series win over ULM last weekend to open SBC play.
The Dukes started the week in Morgantown falling in a pair of midweek contests to WVU.
James Madison enters the series as the lowest-scoring team in the SBC at 78 runs scored (3.7 per game).
In five starts this season, Jackson Logar has posted a 2-2 record with a 3.38 ERA with 29 strikeouts, fifth most in the SBC, in 24.0 innings of work.
