Marshall Baseball Tabbed Fourth in 2026 SBC Preseason Poll

Herd set to open season next week

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Baseball was picked fourth in the 2026 Sun Belt Conference Preseason Coaches Poll on Wednesday, as announced by the league office.

"We are excited about the upcoming season. To be honest, pre-season polls don't mean a lot. If you remember we were picked 12th last year and finished fourth. What I do believe it is saying is that other people are noticing the energy and growth of Marshall Baseball like all of us are feeling in Herd Nation. We are working hard, look forward to completing and building on this momentum," Herd Baseball Head Coach Greg Beals said.

The Herd returns its weekend starting rotation in Bryce Blevins, Clint Moak and 2025 All-SBC Second-Team honoree Griffin Miller. MU also welcomes back Drew Harlow after he helped Lenoir Rhyne to the Division II College World Series and led D II in strikeouts.

At the plate, Jackson Halter returns after leading the Herd with 17 stolen bases in 2025 and hit .284. AJ Havrilla is the team's returning leader in batting average and RBI at .287 and 45 respectively.

Marshall is set to begin the 2026 season in Kennesaw, Georgia, February 13 through the 15 with a pair of games against Evansville and Kennesaw State.
