HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Following a draw to open Sun Belt Conference play, Marshall Women's Soccer (4-2-3, 0-0-1 SBC) travels to Troy Thursday evening to face the Trojans (1-6-2, 0-1-0 SBC). Kickoff from Troy Soccer Complex is scheduled for 7 p.m. eastern, 6 central.

COACH RAFA SIMOES
- Head Coach Rafa Simoes is in his third season leading the MU Women's Soccer program. The former associate with the Herd men's team is a 2018 graduate of the University of Charleston in West Virginia, where he played for then-head coach Chris Grassie.
- Simoes and the Herd had a resurgent 2025 season. In his second year as skipper for MU, Simoes led the team to win its most games in a decade (8) with four All-Conference selections, also the program's most since 2015.
PRE-MATCH NOTES
- Marshall found itself a bit unlucky to only come away with a draw in its SBC opener with La Tech. The Herd outshot the Bulldogs 22-9 and had a penalty saved in the 1-1 tie.
- MU's goal came from Julia Migacz, her first of the season. The Polish forward is Marshall's eighth player to score this season, a statistical category led by Marshall's other Polish native, Wiktoria Mikrut. Her five goals are tied for fourth in the league.
- Marshall picked up five points on the road in SBC league contests last year with a 1-2-2 record.
ABOUT THE TROJANS
- Troy is 1-6-2 in 2026 under first-year Head Coach Jake Wyman. The Trojans lost its SBC opener at South Alabama, 2-0.
- Fifth-year forward Alaina Uncapher leads the team with three goals. Madisyn Marchesi and Irene Torres have a pair of goals apiece as well.
- Marshall has won each of the first two meetings between the two sides. The Herd notched a 2-1 victory in Troy in 2023 before a 3-0 win in Huntington in 2024.
