2022 (Senior): Competed in all six meets as a senior, finishing season strong with multiple PR’s…Opened season with 24th place finish at Mike Baumer XC Classic, racing an 18:37.0…Scored a 21st place finish at the BGSU Falcon Invitational, racing a 22:19.4…Set 5k PR at Sun Belt Cross Country Championships, racing an 18:11.3, finishing 20th…Set 6k PR at Mid-Atlantic Regionals, racing a 22:06.9, finishing 70th.
2021 (Junior): Competed in all six meets for Marshall in 2021....opened season with a 30th place finish at Virginia Tech Invitational, racing a time of 17:07.3....raced in three consecutive 5K's, setting a season PR at Louisville Classic, racing a 18:50.0...raced a 23:10.0 at C-USA Championships...finished season at NCAA DI Atlantic Region Championships, racing a 22:59.5.
2021-22 Conference USA Academic Medalist: GPA 3.75 or better
2021-22 Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll: GPA 3.00 or better
2020 (Sophomore): One of two Marshall women’s runners to compete in all three meets in the shortened season … began her season at the Louisville Cross Country Classic where she finished 76th with a time of 20:04.8 … improved her 5K time two weeks later at the Blue Ridge Open dual meet at Appalachian State with a time of 19:19.0 and 17th place finish … finished 57th at the Conference USA Championships with a 6K time of 23:53.8.
2019 (Freshman): Competed in 6/6 meets for Marshall as a freshman…she led the Thundering Herd in two meets…began the year at the Pitt Panther Opener 4K with a time of 14:58.2 and 15th place finish…finished 6th in the team’s meet victory at the Winthrop Adidas Invitational…set a 5K PR at the Louisville Classic when she led the team with her time of 18:32.9…finished a team-best 4th at the Evansville Invitational 5K with a time of 18:57.3…finished 2nd on the team in a 41st place finish at the Conference USA Cross Country Championships…ran in 22:30.2 in her first collegiate 6K at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals … named to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and awarded the C-USA Academic Medal for achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better.
Prior to Marshall: Smith comes to the Herd as one of the most decorated Single A runners in the State of West Virginia. She is a two-time state meet qualifier with a highest place of eighth, receiving all-state honors in the A/AA race. She is the 2018 State Champion in the 1600, three-time runner-up in the 800.
