Appeared in 10 games, starting the first two contests of the season...Made 14 tackles and broke up six passes...recorded four tackles (three solo) against West Virginia...put up three tackles against Illinois State and three against Tulsa...broke up two passes against Illinois State and West Virginia.
FRESHMAN Season (2007)
Saw action in seven games and started the last three games of the season at corner as a true freshman...credited with 22 tackles...recorded six tackles and three pass breakups in the win over East Carolina...recorded a career-high 10 tackles at Houston.
High School
A standout performer at Mainland High where he played receiver and defensive back...played along side former Marshall quarterback Jonathan Garner and helped Mainland to a state title in 2004.
Personal
Enrolled in January 2007 and participated in spring practice ahead of his freshman year...majoring in marketing...lost his mother, Vonya Smart, to breast cancer in December of 2008.
