R-JUNIOR SEASON (2019): In first season playing at Marshall, started all 13 games and became a Conference USA first team all-conference honoree at linebacker … Honored after the season as Marshall’s Defensive MVP, an award he shared with fellow linebacker Omari Cobb … Named a game captain twice (at FAU and at Charlotte) … Compiled 121 tackles, which led the team and Conference USA … Also had 7.0 tackles for a loss, 2.0 sacks, one interception, four pass breakups, two fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles … Teamed with fellow linebacker to rank Nos. 1 and 2 in C-USA in tackles … 121 total tackles ranked No. 12 nationally … Ranked No. 6 nationally in tackles by non-seniors … Recorded double-digit tackles in five games … Season-high 15 tackles and a forced fumble at Charlotte … 14 tackles, 1.5 tackles for a loss and combined on a sack in a win against ODU … Twice recorded 13 tackles (at Boise State and home against Louisiana Tech) … Also returned a fumble 16 yards against LA Tech … Recorded 11 tackles, including 0.5 for a loss, in a win against Ohio … Began his Herd career with seven tackles, including 0.5 for a loss, in a win against VMI … Nine tackles, including 1.5 for a loss, a forced fumble and his first career sack against Cincinnati … Five tackles and a career-high 2.5 tackles for a loss in a win at FAU … Four tackles in a win against WKU … Nine tackles in a win at Rice … Eight tackles and an interception in the season finale win against FIU … Finished with seven tackles in the Gasparilla Bowl against UCF … Performance against Louisiana Tech earned him the C-USA Defensive Player of the Week honor … Third non-senior to lead the team in tackles in 10 seasons under Doc Holliday, joining Chase Hancock (128 in 2017) and Evan McKelvey (97 in 2013).
