Herd Baseball Players Set For Summer Ball

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Members of the Thundering Herd baseball team will spend the summer all throughout the country playing in some of the most prestigious collegiate baseball leagues the sport has to offer.
Marshall will be represented in 12 states this summer as far northeast as New York and Massachusetts and as far west as California, Hawaii and Alaska.
Shane Farrell and Austin Coan will compete in the Cape Cod Baseball League as members of the Falmouth Commodores and Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox respectively.
Four players, Ryan Kiel, Arik Sikula, Dan Straily and Josh Valle, will participate in the Northwoods League this summer. Kiel will pitch for the Eau Claire Express (Wisconsin) while Sikula and Straily will be situated in Minnesota, playing for the Rochester Honkers and St. Cloud River Bats respectively. Valle will compete with the Battle Creek Bombers in Michigan during the summer months.
