HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- The Marshall baseball team will square off against the Morehead State Eagles Tuesday at 3 p.m. at John "Sonny" Allen Field in Morehead, Ky.

Marshall is 57-70-3 all-time versus Morehead State, making Tuesday's game the 131st meeting between the two programs.

The Thundering Herd (7-8) currently rides a three-game winning streak after sweeping a three-game series against Gardner-Webb in Boiling Springs, N.C. last weekend. Each of those games featured rare and exciting news for the Herd as Aaron Blair fanned a career high 13 hitters on Friday, Adrian Farris smacked a grand slam home run on Saturday, and the Herd pitching staff combined for eight shutout innings on Sunday.

Marshall has indeed seen plenty of recent success and will look to continue that success when it takes on the 8-8 Eagles.

The Eagles, despite losing its most recent game, have won two of its last three after defeating UNC Asheville in a three-game series over the weekend. Morehead State also visited the Kentucky Wildcats earlier this year and fell victim, 3-2, to one of UK's NCAA leading 16 wins. Its one-run loss to the Wildcats matched what only two other teams have been able to do in 2012.

Nathan Gomez is batting .321 this year to lead the Herd. The junior first baseman also leads the team in run production with 18 RBIs - for which he also ranks third in Conference-USA.

Isaac Ballou ranks second on the team in hitting with a .293 average. His team-leading eight stolen bases rank him second in C-USA.

The Herd's live chat will be available for Tuesday's game, as will MSU's live stats.
