HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall volleyball team returns to the Cam Henderson Center on Friday for a Conference USA match with the WKU Hilltoppers. First serve is set for 11 a.m.

The Thundering Herd enters the match with an overall record of 8-10 and 1-3 in C-USA. The Hilltoppers enter with a record of 12-6 and 3-1 on conference play.

Marshall is coming off a three-set sweep of Louisiana Tech on Sunday, Sept. 30. The Herd featured a balanced offensive attack with four players recording seven or more kills. Senior Lauren Mattmuller finished with seven kills, a .357 hitting percentage, a solo block and three block assists.

Redshirt sophomore Ciara Debell leads the team with 256 kills in her first season with the Herd and is second in Conference USA averaging 4.20 kills per set. Freshman Gabrielle Coulter has 580 assists, an average of 9.83 per set which is good for fourth best in conference. Junior Amber Weber leads the Herd and is second in conference with 350 digs and 5.30 per set.

The Lady Toppers enter the contest after dropping a four-set decision at home against the Rice Owls. The loss ended a five-match winning streak. The Owls took advantage of 25 attack errors and attacked at a .331 clip compared to WKU's .192 to grab the win and stay atop the conference standings. The Lady Toppers are in a three-way tie for second place with UTSA and FIU.

WKU features five players all with over 100 kills. Rachel Anderson leads the way with 232, 3.36 per set. The Lady Toppers have 101 service aces this season but have also committed 157 service errors. Taylor Bebout leads the squad with 553 assists and Payton Frederick is tops with 217 digs.

Marshall stays at home this weekend as the Herd will take on UTEP on Sunday, Oct. 7 at 1 p.m.
