Volleyball Drops Conference Match Versus Florida Atlantic

Herd returns to the court on Sunday, Nov. 4 for senior day

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall volleyball team lost to the Florida Atlantic Owls in three sets (12-25, 19-25, 16-25), Friday evening in the Cam Henderson Center.
The Thundering Herd is now 10-16 overall and 3-9 in Conference USA. The Owls improve to 19-5 and 9-2 in conference.
Redshirt sophomore Ciara Debell led the Herd with nine kills and senior Lauren Mattmuller added six. Mattmuller finished with her tenth match of the season with an attack percentage above .300 (.417).
Senior Shelby Conley and junior Ivana Trencheva each had three kills. Freshman Autumn Elswick had 12 assists and redshirt junior Jayden Jacobs had nine. Debell also led in digs with seven while Elswick had six and junior Amber Weber contributed five.
Florida Atlantic led throughout most of the match and continued its winning streak to four.
Marshall returns to the floor on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 1 p.m., against the FIU Panthers on Senior Day. Prior to the match the Herd will honor Jacobs, Mattmuller and Shelby Conley. Marshall then hits the road for the final two matches of the regular season against WVU (Nov. 7) and Charlotte (Nov. 9).
