Volleyball Hosts FIU on Senior Day
Jacobs, Mattmuller and Conley to be honored prior to the match

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall volleyball team welcomes the FIU Panthers on Sunday for Senior Day, in the Cam Henderson Center. First serve is set for 1 p.m.

The 2018 senior class for Marshall consists of Jayden Jacobs, Lauren Mattmuller and Shelby Conley.

The Thundering Herd enters the match with an overall record of 10-16 and 3-9 in Conference USA. The Panthers come in at 14-11 overall and 6-5 in conference play.

The match will be broadcast live on HerdVision on CUSAtv as Jake Griffith will have the call. The match will also be broadcast on 88.1 WMUL-FM and with audio streamed online at www.marshall.edu/wmul through one of the Listen Live links.

Marshall is coming off a three-set loss to the Florida Atlantic Owls. Redshirt sophomore Ciara Debell needs just two more kills to reach 400 for the season. Mattmuller is second on the team with 164 kills and Conley is third with 161. Freshman Autumn Elswick and Jacobs split time at setter for the Herd in the match against the Owls. Elswick has 59 assists this season and Jacobs has 64. Weber leads with 500 digs on the defensive side.

The Panthers are coming off a five-set loss to WKU on Friday night. Margherita Bianchin leads the team with 332 kills and Nina Petranovic is second with 240. Abbie Hughes has been the main setter for FIU and has 822 assists. Bianchin is second with 127 and Lina Bernier is third with 110. Bernier leads the team in digs with 470. Chelsea Hudson has 91 total blocks.

Following the match on Sunday afternoon, the Herd hits the road for the final two matches of the regular season. Marshall has a non-conference contest at WVU on Wednesday, Nov. 7, and then heads down to Charlotte on Friday, Nov. 9.
