Volleyball Falls to FIU on Senior Day

Herd hits the road for final two regular season matches

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall volleyball team lost in three sets (16-25, 16-25, 17-25) to the FIU Panthers, Sunday afternoon in the Cam Henderson Center.

It was also Senior Day as Jayden Jacobs, Lauren Mattmuller and Shelby Conley were honored before the match.
Â
The Thundering Herd is now 10-17 overall and 3-10 in Conference USA. The Panthers improve to 15-11 and 7-5 in conference play.

Conley and redshirt sophomore Ciara Debell led the team in kills with eight each. Debell now has over 400 kills this season. Freshman Mion Weldon added six and freshman Michaela Ahlenslager had three kills on three attacks and finished with two blocks. Freshman Autumn Elswick led in assists in 16 and Jacobs added 12. Junior libero Amber Weber led again in digs with 17.

Marshall finishes the regular season with two matches on the road. The Herd travels to WVU on Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 6 p.m., and then down to Charlotte for a match with the 49ers on Friday, Nov. 9.
