HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall volleyball is back at home to take on regional rival the Ohio Bobcats, Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Henderson Center.

The Thundering Herd is 3-4 while the Bobcats enter the match at 2-4.

The match will be broadcast live on beIN Connect and then will be re-aired two hours after the match on beIN Sports.

"Ohio is always a very tough opponent and really put it to us last year at their place," Herd head coach Mitch Jacobs said. "They are well coached and very disciplined on defense. Their first two weekends were against very high competition and came out with a couple big wins.

'We are going to have to be ready and compete at our best and see how the match falls."

The Herd had a successful second week of the season, including two comeback victories, going 3-1 overall and 2-1 at the Loyola Rambler Challenge. Marshall began the week with a 3-2 come-from-behind win over Morehead State. The Herd trailed 1-0 and 2-1 and took the match in five sets. Redshirt sophomore Ciara Debell recorded 32 kills, the first time a Herd player has recorded 30 or more since Elizabeth Herman (2007-10) had 30 against SMU on Oct. 17, 2010.

Marshall continued the week with a trip to Chicago for the Rambler Challenge. The Herd swept Georgia State in the first match and then came back from a 2-0 deficit to win in five over Furman. Marshall scored just nine points in the second set against the Paladins and then stormed back taking the next three sets 25-21, 25-19 and 15-8. The Herd fell in the final match of the tournament to the host team, Loyola. Debell continued to lead in kills and recorded 69 for the four match week, while junior Amber Weber led in digs and directed the Herd on the court.

The Bobcats come in at 2-4 but with losses to Texas A&M, Ohio State, No. 5 Nebraska and Santa Clara. Ohio's two wins were against Albany and a sweep of Wake Forest. Sophomore Tia Jimerson leads the squad with 60 kills this season and is followed by redshirt senior Jaime Kosiorek (48) and junior Lizzie Stephens (43). Jimerson is hitting at a .317 clip. Sophomore Vera Giacomazzi leads with 142 assists and is fourth with 29 digs. Sophomore Macy Reihing has 67 digs to lead the team.
