SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Marshall volleyball team is set for a Sunday match with the UTSA Roadrunners. First serve from the Convocation Center is scheduled for 12 p.m. central/1 p.m. eastern.

The Thundering Herd is 12-9 overall and 3-5 in Conference USA. The Roadrunners come in at 13-8 overall and 6-2 in league play.

The Herd is coming off a loss at UTEP Friday night and looking to end a five-match losing skid. Redshirt junior Ciara Debell led all players with 19 kills including 12 in the third set. Senior Amber Weber had 15 digs in the three-set loss.

Debell recorded her 300th kill of the season in the third set at UTEP and has 305 for the year. She is averaging 4.07 per set. Sophomore Sarah Schank is second with 153 kills. Sophomore Gabrielle Coulter leads the way in assists with 446 and junior Sydney Lostumo has 301. Weber is up to 364 digs this season, averaging 4.85 per set. Debell is second with 183 and Coulter is next with 153.

At the net, Marshall is still among the top teams in the country in blocks per set. The Herd entered the week 10th in the NCAA with 2.88 per set. After tallying six total blocks at UTEP, the team's average is down to 2.84, still tops in C-USA. Junior Destiny Leon leads the team and the conference with 101 total blocks. Sophomore Isa Dostal is second on the team with 97 total blocks but now leads the team in blocks per set with 1.39 to Leon's 1.36.

The UTSA Roadrunners come in with a 6-2 league record with losses to Rice and WKU. The loss to the Lady Toppers was the most recent match for UTSA on Sunday, Oct. 20, in a sweep. Prior to the loss at WKU the Roadrunners had won four-straight conference matches.

Kirby Smith leads the team with 212 kills with Hannah Lopez (197) and Brianna McCulloch (192) closing in on 200 for the year. As a team the Roadrunners have a .230 hitting percentage with opponents hitting .205 against. Courtney Walters has been the main setter with 531 assists. Mia Perales is next with 298 assists. Emily Ramirez has tallied 40 service aces this season as UTSA is averaging 1.82 aces per set.
