Baseball Falls to WVU in Charleston

The Herd managed three runs on three hits
CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Herd baseball (15-9) couldn't get much going Wednesday night in a 15-3 loss to West Virginia at Appalachian Power Park in Charleston, W.Va.
Wade Martin returned to action for the first time since Mar. 16, 2018, after blowing out his arm and having season ending surgery. The redshirt-junior righty pitched one inning, giving up one run on one hit and struck out two batters.
The Mountaineers scored the first 13 runs of the game before Andrew Zban was walked with the bases loaded which allowed the Herd to score its first run of the game.
WVU struck for two more in the top of the seventh.
Tucker Linder drove in Luke Edwards with a single up the middle to extend his hit streak to nine games for Marshall's second run of the game.
11 of WVU's 15 runs were unearned.
Each team committed three errors.
Raul Cabrera had two of the Herd's three hits.

Marshall starts a three-game set with Middle Tennessee on Friday at Kennedy Center YMCA at 3 p.m.
