Baseball Heads to Birmingham to Play UAB in Weekend Series

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Herd baseball (22-18, 9-9 C-USA) heads to Birmingham to take on UAB in a Conference USA series from Apr. 26-28.

Marshall is eighth in triples with 18 three-baggers through games played on April 24, while ranking 35th with 83 doubles.

The Herd has a .456 slugging percentage and a .293 batting average which ranks 31st and 38th, respectively.

Elvis Peralta, Jr. and Rey Pastrana are tied for the team lead in home runs with seven.

Tucker Linder has reached base safely in 25 consecutive games and leads the team with 36 RBI.

Erik Rodriguez is fourth in the nation in triples with six.

Joshua Shapiro's team-leading 2.18 ERA is 67th in the country as he also leads the team in wins with five. Shapiro is also allowing just 6.09 hits per nine innings in his 10 starts this season.
