Rodriguez records lone hit for Marshall

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Marshall baseball (23-21) falls in a pitching duel, 2-0, at No. 17 West Virginia on Tuesday.
The Mountaineers scored runs in the third and fifth innings, both were scored with two outs.
Marshall's lone base runners came on a two-out walk in the third by Geordon Blanton and a two-single by Erik Rodriguez which broke up Nick Snyder's no-hit bid in the ninth.
Thundering Herd starting pitcher Ryan Capuano went 4.2 innings giving up just two runs on five hits and five walks while setting down five WVU batters with a strikeout.
Marshall's bullpen of Philip Hoffman, Garett Priestley, Bryan Callaly and Hunter Sexton combined to give up just two hits and strikeout four batters in the final 3.1 innings of work.
Tucker Linder's on-base streak of 28 games came to an end.
