Baseball Prepares for 2019 C-USA Tournament

This is Marshall’s first conference tournament appearance since 2016

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall baseball (28-26, 11-12 C-USA) is ready to take on third-seeded Louisiana Tech in game one of The First 2019 C-USA Baseball Championship presented by Air Force Reserve, at MGM Park in Biloxi, Miss. Also in Marshall's side of the bracket are the second seed Southern Miss and the seventh-seeded Rice.

Marshall is 4-5 against teams in its side of the bracket this season. All games at the tournament will be on ESPN+ or you can catch the games on radio with The Voice of the Thundering Herd Steve Cotton on play-by-play and Tom Linder on color.

- The Herd went 1-2 in a series in Ruston this season.
- Shapiro struck out a career-high 12 batters in the Friday matchup.
- Tanner Huddleston was a thorn in the side of Marshall as he went 4-for-7 with two homers, seven RBI and seven runs scored. The infielder also drew five walks and reached on a hit-by-pitch twice.
- Peralta had five hits in 11 at bats for MU, including a homer, to go with three RBI.
