Track and Field Announces 2021 Indoor Schedule, Begins Friday in Birmingham

Team hosts three meets
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall track and field head coach Jeff Small announced Thursday the program's 2021 indoor schedule.
Blazer Invitational
The track and field team begins its slate Friday, January 15 at the Blazer Invitational hosted by UAB. The meet takes place at the Birmingham Crossplex beginning at 11 a.m. ET/10 a.m. CT.
The Herd sends 12 athletes to Birmingham. They are: MaryAnn Adebayo, Brooke Burns, Tori Dotson, Brandy Elysee, Madelyn Garrison, Mariah Harmon, Abby Herring, Kalei Jordan, Macie Majoy, Rebecca Merritt, Sydney Smith and Lauren Zaglifa.
It will be the collegiate track debuts for Dotson, Jordan and Merritt. Harmon makes her Thundering Herd debut.
No spectators are allowed.
Three Straight Weekends In Huntington
Marshall will then return home to host meets at the Jeff Small Track at the Chris Cline Athletic Complex for three consecutive Saturdays beginning January 30 with the Thundering Herd Invitational. February 6 will be the Marshall Classic followed by the Marshall Invitational February 13.
Each of the three home meets will be quad meets to limit the number of athletes and teams competing due to Covid-19 protocols. More information including meet schedules will be released at a later time. No spectators will be allowed.
The Herd will conclude its indoor portion of the schedule by returning to the Birmingham Crossplex for the Conference USA Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by UAB. The two-day meet begins Saturday, February 20.
