Two-day, three-round event set for Monday and Tuesday, April 12-13

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Marshall men's golf team is back on the course, April 12-13, at the Mountaineer Invitational. The three-round tournament takes place at the Pete Due Golf Club and is hosted by West Virginia University.
The teams begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. on Monday with continuous play for two rounds. The third and final round is set for Tuesday. The course is a par 72 with total yardage of 7,308. Live scoring is provided by GolfStat.com.
Competing for Marshall will be sophomore Tyler Jones and Christian Boyd, senior Noah Mullens and redshirt seniors Matt Hoffman, Cameron Root and Will Straub.
The Herd finished tied for 13th in its last competition at the Irish Creek Intercollegiate.
Marshall is one of 13 teams competing at the Mountaineer Invitational. The other programs are the host (No. 79 in GolfStat top 100) West Virginia, WKU, (No. 35) Georgia Southern, Chattanooga, Loyola Maryland, Appalachian State, Connecticut, Southern Miss, George Washington, Robert Morris, Xavier, and George Mason.
The Herd last played at the Mountaineer Invitational, normally a fall tournament, Oct. 7-8, 2019. Marshall finished 14th.
