Herd Baseball Hosts UAB for Final Series of Regular Season

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University baseball team (8-33, 4-24 C-USA) plays hosts to the UAB Blazers (16-33, 9-19 C-USA) at the Kennedy Center for the final series of the season. Game one is set for a 3 p.m. first pitch on Friday.

Marshall honor Nick Adkins, Bryan Callaly, Michael Guerrero, Zach Inskeep, D'Andre Knight and Josh Zeboskey this weekend. Senior Day ceremonies are set for Sunday pending weather.

Junior Geordon Blanton ranks in a tie for sixth in C-USA with 11 stolen bases this season.

Junior pitcher Raymond Pacella is in a tie for 10th in strikeouts with 64 in 56 innings pitched this season.

Freshman Ryan Leitch leads the team with eight home runs and 24 RBI.

The Blazers are 16-33 this season with a 9-19 Conference USA record.

Chandler Simpson leads C-USA with 23 stolen bases on 25 attempts, while leading UAB with a .310 batting average.

Zack Davis and John Marc Mullins are tied for the team-high in homers with four, while Davis has brought in 34 RBI to lead the Blazers.

Riley Davis has struck out 59 batters this season and has a 4-4 record with a 3.11 ERA.
