Marshall Volleyball Set to Host Georgia Southern this Weekend

Pride Night Friday at 6 p.m., Pink Out Saturday at Noon
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University volleyball team (7-11, 1-5 Sun Belt) welcomes the Georgia Southern Eagles (10-6, 2-2 Sun Belt) this weekend for a pair of matches at the Cam Henderson Center.

On Friday, join us for Pride Night as we celebrate the LBGTQIA+ community.

On Saturday join us for our Pink Out. We want you wear pink and join as we honor the survivors and remember those who have passed away from breast cancer. We will be collecting donation for the Susan G. Komen Foundation at the game. If you have anyone you would like to honor at the game feel free to send their name to shelton97@marshall.edu.

Graduate student Macy McElhaney leads the Herd with 199 kills (2.97 kills per set) as senior Lydia Montague has a team-best .324 hitting percentage. Montague also has a squad- and conference-best 79 blocks.

Fifth-year senior Kaitlyn Gehler leads Marshall with 258 digs.

Sophomore Brynn Brown leads MU with eight double-doubles this season, including three triple-doubles, fifth most in the country.
Scouting the Opponent

The Eagles enter the weekend 10-6 with a 2-2 Sun Belt record and were swept last weekend at Coastal Carolina.

Ashlyn Lovett is second in the conference in service aces (34) and third in digs per set (4.47).

Georgia Southern hold its opponents to a SBC-best .146 hitting percentage, fourth best in the country.
