Herd Volleyball Travels to Boone for Pair of Matches at App State

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University volleyball team (7-13, 1-7 Sun Belt) travels to Boone, North Carolina, for a pair of matches this weekend against App State (11-8, 4-4 Sun Belt).

Series History:
vs. App State – App State leads the all-time series 12-24-1, last meeting was August 25, 2006 (App State 3-0 win)

Graduate student Macy McElhaney leads the Herd with 212 kills (2.90 kills per set) as senior Lydia Montague has a team-best .324 hitting percentage. Montague also has a squad- and conference-best 89 blocks, 35th most in the country.

Fifth-year senior Kaitlyn Gehler leads Marshall with 264 digs.

Sophomore Brynn Brown leads MU with nine double-doubles this season, including three triple-doubles, fifth most in the country.

Scouting the Opponent
App State
The Mountaineers enter the weekend 11-8 with a 4-4 conference record. It has won its last four matches sweeping both Georgia State and ULM on the road.

Maya Winterhoff has is 12th in the nation and leads the SBC in hitting percentage at .411. Winterhoff also leads her side in blocks with 74, fourth most in the Sun Belt.
